How Can headache And Sore Throat Along With Fever Be Treated?

12 yr old son, was doing fine through school, then started getting a headache this afternoon. later I thought he looked very pale, I took his temp, it's running 101-102, now has a mild sore throat. Has taken Motrin and a bath, but temp hasn't changed.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

As per your complain it looks like your son is suffering from Viral throat infection leading to sore throat or Pharyngitis and fever..

I would therefore suggest you to give him Tylenol along with Ibuprofen in combination..
Make him do warm saline gargles 2-3 times a day for relief..
He should do steam inhalations..
Chew a Vitamin C pellet and suck throat lozenge..
Give him soft meals and plenty of warm fluids..
Take sufficient rest..

In case if there is no improvement in 3-4 days consult a Paediatrician and get him evaluated..
